Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I have an issue with my Samsung C2670FW printer. I believe the problem is related to the UI firmware, but I haven’t been able to find the latest version anywhere online.

Issue:
Whenever I turn on the printer, the display freezes on the Samsung logo. I can still connect to the printer via USB, configure it for network use, and access the SyncThru Web Service. The printer itself works as expected, but the UI remains unresponsive and stuck on the logo.

Here are the firmware versions:

  • System Firmware Version: V4.00.01.45 (June 25, 2018)

  • Platform Version: V4.38.09.0622.00

  • UP Version: 14.00.20180118.0e1156

  • Engine Firmware Version: V0.01.30

  • UI Firmware Version: V7.20.10.03_2014061116

I did find a firmware package for this printer, but it only updated the system firmware and did not upgrade the UI firmware.

I understand your Samsung C2670FW printer display is frozen on the Samsung logo while the printer itself still works. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Perform a full power reset
Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord, and disconnect all cables (USB, Ethernet, fax).
Wait at least 5 minutes, then reconnect only the power cable and turn the printer back on to see if the UI initializes.

Check for UI lock caused by corrupted settings
With the printer powered on and stuck at the logo, open the front cover and then close it firmly.
This forces a UI refresh on some Samsung models and can sometimes clear a frozen panel state.

Verify if the touchscreen itself is responding
Lightly tap different areas of the display while it is on the logo screen.
If there is no response at all (no beep, no change), this points to a UI firmware or display controller issue rather than system firmware.

Reflash firmware using USB (forced method)
Even though you already updated system firmware, re-flashing can sometimes reinitialize UI components.
Use the firmware utility via USB (not network) and ensure no other print jobs or SyncThru sessions are active during the update.

Confirm that UI firmware cannot be updated separately
On this model, the UI firmware is bundled internally and is not always updated with publicly released firmware packages.
If system firmware updates complete successfully but the UI firmware version never changes, it indicates HP/Samsung did not release a newer UI firmware publicly.

I hope this helps.
