It is unclear why something as simple as firmware update simply is not available in the download section of the clx-3185 page at HP's website.  Why is HP making such a simple task so difficult? Please, release the bin file containing the updated firmware.

Depending on the age of the machine and where it is in the product life cycle, there may not be any updates. Is there a particular version you are aware of that you cannot find?

It is a fairly old machine, a clx-3185 (clx-3180 series). It is branded as Samsung (not hp). I believe that in the past Samsung used to make printers to HP. And back in 2017, HP bought Samsung printing division. The link presented in the samsung printer management software points to Samsung url, which simply is invalid and goes nowhere. 

 

I bought it back in maybe in 2011. Although its firmware simply never was updated. I heard some time ago that a newer firmware had been released, not recently, but at some point, after 2010. The current firmware is V1.20.01.14  Apr-12-2010. And, as pointed out, above the printer management software simply is unable to retrieve any driver due to link errors.  To make matters worse, there is no firmware to download at hp: Samsung CLX-3185 Color Laser Multifunction Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Custom...
