Product: Samsung Scx 4521 F

I have a Samsung SCX 4521 F machine that loses date and time setting when power is turned off.I did check the battery backup under the control panel and the output is correct.I set the date and time and the machine will work until the power is switched off.Is this battery for the memory of the machine settings or is there something else i need to look at.Hope someone can assist me to clear this problem.

I am A certified Copier Technician.
It is so nice to give some help where possible and the forum is a great idea Thank You.Sometimes a picture speaks louder than words to find a solution.Should you find my help use full just give some credit for my effort please.

Just for information.The battery is only for keeping date and time settings for Fax purposes.Once the power goes down you need to re-enter these settings.
