hi, somehow I managed to make the printer working properly and the scanner. after installing the latest drivers i needed to overwrite the authorization policy simply forcing the apps to open since the system initially told me that the developer was unknown. I hope it will work for others.

hi @Jammy_IT
I guess that was for your samsung m2070w, and that was on Catalina Mac OS?

Has the print driver got a version number? and the scan driver?

thanks

Mrsimonb,

yes that's correct: m2070w, and Catalina.

the drivers are those present at the moment on HP support page. V3.87.00 for printer and V2.01.45 for scan.

I found this page with a ftp link, however it's for 480...

Jammy, Is it for 480 or m2070 ? Drivers listing page doesn't show any suitable drivers such as The V3.87.00 for printer and V2.01.45 for scan for m2070 and Catalina. Can you pls provide the link ? So thanks in advance.

I’m back on the Mojave release of the driver. Everything I need works, scan to pdf doesn’t, but I never use that.

Raises the question about what is the expected life of a printer? We still have HP laserjets that must be 20 years and still going strong.

As well as Mleec I believe that going back to Mojave for the time being is the only compromise solution 😅. It's amazing how many people participate this forum from so long time, nevertheless none of us seems having found a common solution. As far as I am concerned I'm not going back to Mojave, even if with the C480 I can only print, but not scan.

"Apple began transitioning to 64-bit hardware and software technology for Mac over a decade ago"

from:  support.apple.com

HP bought Samsung in November 2017.  Presumably as part of the due-diligence of the purchase, they would have asked how much progress Samsung had made towards creating 64 bit drivers for the products.  I would think.  but maybe not.

Thanks for all your updates, still no word from @KrazyToad or any other support.

With best wishes to everyone, I'm bowing out of this conversation.
