My perfectly good laser printer, a Samsung ML-2165 suddenly needs drivers.
HP messages say that it's not on their list of supported devices. Two different Macbooks cannot print.
I really really hope someone can help here.
Many thanks,
K

The drivers for Mac OS 10.11 for the Samsung ML-2165 can be downloaded from HP here.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.

Thanks, Bob, very kind of you to respond. I tried again and this time it works.
That page itself was the problem. You have to choose your OS version, and then I thought it would automatically give me the drivers. I'd look down and see a box stating, "there are no drivers for this model".
Instead, you have to choose the OS, and then click a button labelled, "change". Good golly, what a name for a button. I thought "change" would be to choose a different OS! So I didn't click it. The button should be called, "go", or "choose", or "get drivers"!
It's also frustrating, because you download the drivers, and then you have to go digging around in all four of the folders to find the "install" file. I'm no IT person. It's been hours trying to get these drivers downloaded. The Samsung printer is amazingly adequate for my needs. It should have been easier.
BTW, that Virtual Assistant feature was no help at all. HP should make the Samsung support easier. I got into a time-sucking, endless useless loop with that feature.
Nevertheless I am glad the drivers are there.
And on the bright side, for the first time in 5 years, I've gotten the WiFi working on the machine. I had to use the USB connection to get that to work (wouldn't connect with WiFi), so that is amazing. And it's all down to you, Bob.
Thanks again! Restores my faith in technology.
Cheers,
K
