Hi,
Today, I started having issue with printing documents - they would just stuck at the print queue.
I decided to reinstall all the software here: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2020-laser-printer-series/164625...
Only to find myself into more issues that have taken me half the day to no avail.
I tried using Samsung Printer Diagnostics and try to install the Universal or M2020 drivers.
At one point, the Universal driver can be installed, but not the M2020 driver. Either way, the issue comes up when trying to install the driver -- An error prompt titled "Printer" would show "❌ The arguments are invalid".
In another instance, the error is "Printer: ❌ Operation could not be completed error 0x0000074 port is unknown".
Tried system restore, did not work.
Tried uninstalling the drivers and attempt to reinstall through device manager, did not work.
Reset the printer by pulling the plug, wait over 60 seconds and power on again, did not work.
Scroll through more than dozens of video tutorials, forums, did not work.
Tried disabling, even uninstalled my anti-virus software, did not work.
Network reset, did not work.
Windows updates, did not work.
Tried ALL the Samsung printer software to install the driver, did not work.
Tried the HP print and scan doctor, did not work.
Tried rebooting the system in troubleshoot → advanced options → startup settings → restart → option 7: disable driver signature enforcement, did not work.
The printer itself, including WPS, should be working just fine. The drivers however cannot be installed.
What EXACTLY is "arguments" and in what ways are they "invalid"? The technical jargon is convoluted.
So:
1. Does anyone know the meaning of "arguments are invalid?" And I cannot locate it as an error in the Windows' "Event Viewer" either.
2. If other users here have Samsung Xpress SL-M-2020 series (or related) having similar issues, please comment.
3. Is there a tool to force uninstall and total removal of all Samsung printing software and drivers, so I might do a reinstall cleanly?
4. Is reinstalling the entire OS the only option...
