Samsung Xpress SL-M2830DW Laser Printer Printer not found by iOS AirPrint AirPrint does not find the printer since IOS 17 update
If your Samsung Xpress SL-M2830DW laser printer is not being found by iOS AirPrint after an iOS 17 update, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions:
Check Printer Connection:
- Make sure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device. AirPrint requires both devices to be on the same network.
- Verify that the printer is powered on and ready to receive print jobs.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your Samsung printer. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address compatibility issues. Visit the Samsung support website and follow the instructions to update your printer's firmware.
Restart Printer and iOS Device:
- Turn off your printer and iOS device.
- Wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Try printing again.
Reset Network Settings on iOS Device:
- Go to "Settings" on your iOS device.
- Navigate to "General" > "Reset."
- Tap "Reset Network Settings."
- Enter your device passcode when prompted.
- Confirm the reset and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
Check Printer's Wi-Fi Settings:
- On the printer, access the settings menu.
- Verify that the Wi-Fi settings match your current network.
- If needed, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Reinstall Printer on iOS Device:
- On your iOS device, go to "Settings."
- Tap on "Printers" or "Print & Scan."
- Remove the existing printer if it's listed.
- Add the printer again and see if it is detected.
Update iOS:
- Ensure that your iOS device is running the latest version of the operating system. If not, update to the latest version available.
Check Apple Support Forums:
- Visit Apple support forums to see if other users are experiencing similar issues after the iOS 17 update. There may be community solutions or discussions that can help.
Wait for Updates:
- Keep an eye on future iOS updates, as Apple may release fixes for compatibility issues in subsequent updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I am having the same problem with a Samsung Xpress SL-M2875DW. It is a good printer and I've used AirPrint with it for years until upgrading to iOS 17. Since then, the printer doesn't even show up as an option, though it continues to work fine through AirPrint on macOS and devices with older versions of iOS. I chatted with Apple support who directed me to Samsung who directed me to HP for a firmware update, but I can't find anything newer. For the record, this is the firmware version I am currently running: V3.00.01.40 AUG-18-2017
Can you tell me how to get the latest firmware for my printer?

This is odd. On my Apple devices, all updated to iOS 17.2:
Samsung Mobile Print app for ios finds and can print to the printer.
HP Smart app for ios does not find the printer.
Airprint does not not find the printer.

Same. iOS 17.2 doesn't help. AirPrint still doesn't work and the HP Smart app can't even find the printer—not on my computer and not on my phone. In short, something was changed with recent software updates, and both HP and Apple seem to want to deprecate access to older devices. Is there anything else I can try to update this machine to work with my current tech?

Hi,
Just off the phone with HP re my Samsung with the no AirPrint on iOS 17. They have the fix they say. $129. US for 3 months support. $199. for a year.
Went to Engineers at Apple. Need new firmware, though not directly from Apple printer companies new this was coming. Apparently biggest part Apple changed to the newest version of Bonjour.

Here's a solution that worked for me:
On a computer that is on the same network as your iOS device you need to have the latest version of the printer driver. I am currently running Samsung M288x Series driver version: 3.93 on macOS 14.2.1. (This solution didn't work with the previous driver version.)
Once you have the latest driver version and can print from you mac, you need to install "Mobility Print" from PaperCut on your computer, and set it up as described. (It's free.) Then you should be able to see the printer from the iOS device. YMMV.
Mobility Print is available for Windows, so this may also work if you have a Windows machine on your network.
