I have two Samsung C4060FX printers and both are broken. I managed to diagnose a faulty HDD in one of the printers and have since replaced it. I was told by a HP support technician to install the new (fresh) HDD with nothing on it at all.

So that's what I did. So now the printer has a completely blank HDD inside and I need to get the operating system on it. Not just the firmware, everything. The problem is that when I plug in the printer and it powers on the screen is blank and I see no options or anything like that. The screen is just completely off. I have a memory stick (formatted to fat32) and I have received the link from HP containing the printer files (The tar.gz.ehd file as well as the .hds file).

Firstly do I need to take out the blank HDD that is currently in the printer and plug it into a PC and do something to it. Like partition it or put some files on it. If so which files do I put on the HDD before I put it back into the printer so that the screen will actually display something.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
