I have a new MacBook Air and I want to connect it with my Samsung M2020, but I no longer have the software for the printer. I need to download the latest driver or web installer compatible with my computer.

Hi @jackrose,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

The Samsung Xpress SL-M2020 Laser Printer series has limited driver support for newer macOS versions. The official compatibility information also confirms that the SL-M2020 and SL-M2020W do not support AirPrint.

Please first confirm the exact macOS version installed on the new MacBook Air. If the available basic driver does not list that macOS version, it might not install or operate correctly.

If the MacBook Air has a compatible USB port or adapter, try connecting the printer directly:

  1. Connect the printer directly to the MacBook Air using a compatible USB cable and adapter.
  2. Turn on the printer.
  3. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  4. Select Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax.
  5. Select the Samsung printer if it appears.
  6. Check the Use field for an available Samsung driver, then select Add.

You can check the available software on the Samsung Xpress SL-M2020 Laser Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support page.

The older Samsung web installer provides a USB installation option, but compatibility depends on the installed macOS version.

The HP app and AirPrint should not be relied on for this model. If the printer is not detected over USB and no compatible driver is listed for the installed macOS version, there is no supported driver available for that Mac configuration.

Please confirm whether the printer is SL-M2020 or SL-M2020W and provide the macOS version shown under the Apple menu > About This Mac.

Take care and have an amazing day!
