M-3820DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Samsung M-3820DW keeps going "Offline", as in going into sleep mode quickly.  To print, I have to press the OK menu button to wake it up - quite a pain every time we print unless print jobs are sent within about 2 minutes of the last one.  If I don't press the OK button, it will eventually print but during the waiting period, I don't know if it will or will not print - and sometimes it totally forgets about the print job.

Does anyone know how to change the sleep timer to wait longer before going into sleep mode?

If the machine is connected with a network cable you can enter the settings in the web interface.Simply just type the IP address of the printer in the web browser and it will connect to the printer. Then change the setting and save to the printer.Hope this will help.

That didn't help.  I've been all over these settings and there is nothing that gives me a choice of how long before it will go into sleep mode.  IF you know where those settings are, please let me know!   Dave

I'm still looking for an answer on this issue . . .    EVERY time we want to print, we have to go to the printer and press the OK button to wake it up.  It never did this previously but is a royal pain.  I expect a network printer to always be available when a print job is sent to it and that the printer will wake up on it's own.  I have not seen any settings where I can change this.  PLEASE HELP!!!!   Dave

Hi, I managed to solve this issue as follows: Use the software Samsung "Easy Printer Manager", once the window opens click on the top on the icon "Switch to Advanced Mode". In advanced mode click on the tab "System", under heading "General" you can change sevral timings like Power Save etc (I changed Power Save to 10 minutes and now the printer stays on for 10 minutes before going into StandBy mode).

I hope it helps!

I had same problem on M2835DW -  though on easy print manager I can't change settings and have to go through link to Sync Thru Web Service, where I could see settings but I could not work out how to change them.

I found the following info off Amazon on how to change the settings - and whilst you can change the setting for sleep time, the important one is to set the wake up event to "on" as by default it is off. Once I'd done that and applied the settings, my printer works fine - have just left it overnight, then printed in morning and it woke up straight away and printed.  (I'm sure it used to do this when first purchased and something changed a few months ago):-
From Amazon -
1) Open the "Samsung Easy Printer Manager"

2) In the menu box on the right, choose "SyncThru Web Service." That will open up your printer status/settings page in a web browser
3) Select "login" (upper right hand side of the screen.) [default login user id and password for syncthru webservice is login: admin pw: sec00000]
4) In the middle of the menu bar along the top, choose "Settings" then "Machine Settings"
5) Under System->Setup->General->"Wakeup Event", change to "On"
6) Click "Apply"

You can change other settings such as power save in the same interface.
