Does this problem happen from both the ADF (if equipped) and the flat glass? Can you post a sample?

No ADF. It happens when using scan to copy from paper on glass and same when scan to usb.

It does NOT happen when printing from PC or MAC

You either get a stripey band or white band. Does this mean the scanner sensor is broken? Can it be fixed….I am UK based. Tried to find help with HP Service and they are useless 😞

I have exactly the same problem but using Windows 10.

I have the same problem. If ADF is the express feed thing then yes, it happens with this and the flat glass.

Place I took it to couldn't solve the issue. Tried installing drivers etc but no luck.

Likely a failed scanner or a failed scanner board (which is often part of the formatter on smaller devices).
