SCX-3405W
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Yesterday morning, I had no troubles scanning and opening the PDF's. Then, in spite of no upgrades nor updates that same day, in the evening, documents scanned resulted in my inability to view them as PDF's. However, when I scanned them as JPEG's, there was no trouble. The result is the same whether I use Adobe Acrobat Reader, or Apple's Preview app. Nevertheless, I uninstalled Acrobat and reinstalled it just in case, but it made no difference. I tried different settings (resolution, colour/B&W, etc), but these made no difference either. I rebooted the Mac and the printer, no difference. I looked on HP's website, but couldn't find any drivers any longer for this printer (just one re: wireless, but I have it connected by USB). I did uninstall the printer, and reinstall it, and then did another scan, but same result. I spent the better part of an hour on the phone with Apple support and we tried other avenues, but again, no change. One week ago, I did upgrade from Sierra (10.12) to Mojave (10.14), if that is pertinent. But that was a week ago. This change occurred half way through a day, a week later.

Hello,

I found another post - from Eaglebox, with a solution from Printer_S - with this solution, and it worked for me:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SL-M5360RX/Mac_EDC_V1.00.26.zip

Thank you.

Note: I am disappointed that HP didn't have a link to this on the page for the SCX-3405, and that HP's virtual assistant isn't better able to suss out such things, with keywords.
