Hello community,

in the past I often had the problem that Windows suddenly no longer recognized my scanner in the Samsung SCX-3400 and I could no longer scan with the device.

I also recognized this by other user entries here in the community (e.g. in this post or this post) but unfortunately I was too late and couldn't leave a reply because the post was already locked.

So, enclosed in this separate post a solution for this issue.

The problem itself occurs when Microsoft installs certain updates and overwrites the original driver version. This happens to me about once a year.

If I notice this, I run the small program (.exe), which simply restores the old but functional driver status. After that everything works again. Personally I'm a fan of the old "Samsung Scan-Assist" application...and even in this app everythings runs smooth (I think the app is from year 2012).

If you have the same problem: here is the link to the little FIX program:

Simply run the .exe with a double click (note: this is not a virus file or any other junk. Just a program that restores the drivers). Some guy created the file and and posted the file in the old forum. However, the forum no longer exists. Therefore, this approach / post in the newer HP-Community can provide relief for those affected.

All the best!
Mike
