I received this message and want to know what I need to do to not lose business time when my HP printer can no longer scan to gmail?

"On May 30, you may lose access to apps that are using less secure sign-in technology. To help keep your account secure, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password. Instead, you’ll need to sign in using Sign in with Google or other more secure technologies, like OAuth 2.0."

Hi,

You may enable two steps verification on your google account:

https://www.google.com/landing/2step/

Next, create and use an application app password with the printer:

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en

This allows a better security with Google and allow the printer to access your email account without allowing less secure apps and allows the printer to access your account, as a reference see below knowledge article from Google:

Hi, I have a similar problem. I tried the app password and it still won't let me login. Google says: If you use a non-Google app and can't sign in, the app's sign-in process might not be secure. Try to update to the latest version of the app and use "Sign in with Google," if it’s an option.

Can anyone verify that it has worked for them? I used to be able to scan, and I copy/pasted in the 16 digit pw they provided, so not sure why I am still getting a credentials failed at configuration.

I have a different interface and when I put the App Password in the password box, it still fails. It says the software on the printer is up to date. Any other suggestions?

Please make sure you have 2-steps verification enabled on Your Google account, then create an app password and copy it as the password among your gmail address, then click Save and Test.
