HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer - A910a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

if the printer is not used for some days, scanner error shows printer not online, but printing with the LAN connected printer is still possible. After trying to power off the printer an error message is displayed on the printer display asking for power off/on.
After power on scanning is again possible.
In the printer a firmware error 69666 is logged.
An ticket [Personal Information Removed] has been opened to the same problem but closed because the problem has gone after repowering the printer.
Does anybody know how to get a solution to the problem?
Best regards,
Rschnauzer

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

Firstly. let's update the printer firmware, download available firmware updates from the HP website with the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Once done, restart the printer and check.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks,

Firmware LRP1FN1621BR is already installed. I get the problem only after some days not using the scanner.

If the scanner is not found printing is possible.
What is the difference between LRP1FN1621BR and LRP1FN1621DR?
Regards

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, both are different versions of firmware LRP1FN1621BR and LRP1FN1621DR the latest firmware will correct and fix previous firmware issues.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Thanks,

ScanDr is already installed and I tried to use it the last time when the error occurred.
But the ScanDr was not able to communicate with the scanner/printer.
How may I document this, if the error occurs the next time?

Best regards,

Rschnauzer

Hello @ECHO_LAKE,

the error occurred again.
Scan program displays "Gerät nicht gefunden" unit not found.
ScanDr starts diagnostics with the correct printer name, but does not finish, only with kill by Task Manager.

Printer is active on LAN and replies on ping.

Printer power off switch results in error message on display, "printer error power switch off/on".

After power switch  off/on, every thing works fine.
In the printer message log is a new firmware error:

2440412022-01-27 11:49:00696666437Firmware-Fehler
2440402022-01-18 13:04:00696666437Firmware-Fehler

Which additional documentation may I provide?

Best regards,

Rschnauzer

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Thanks @Echo_Lake,

I deinstalled and reinstalled the complete HP SW as recommended.
It was successful on the Laptop installed primarily with Windows 10.
On the laptop with Windows 10 migrated from a primal Windows 7 I got an error.
HP Help SW can not be deinstalled, I get an error ask your Administrator.
If I triy to use the option change HP Help I am prompted for a no more available CD rom .
The rest of the SW had been installed successful.
I now wait if the error will raise again.

Best regards

Hallo,

after reinstalling the HP Software I get the following error message with automatically scheduled HP Update:

HP Update The application failed because of a software library is missing. Potentially you have to install the application again.

The application will be stopped. HPSU -0004
Which software is missing, I installed the complete package? Which packet has to be installed again?

Best regards
Rschnauzer
