HP Laptop won't connect to Envy printer 7955e to scan. Printer and laptop both connected to wi-fi.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

Are you using HP Smart? Download HP Smart from  Microsoft store and add Printer to the HP Smart.

 

Once added, the printer will be able to scan.

new envy 7900 & i-yr-old 15t laptop  EK6091TA. Been using HP computers & printers since 2000. Fixed scan with tech on Case #508-078-0392 last week. He said there was a problem with scanning with from Windows 10 since a Ms update a couple of months ago, so he provided me with the old scan multifunction app, accessible from blue  icon on desktop. That worked until yesterday, when clicking that got "unable to communicate with scanner" and a FIX button for the Print and Scan Doctor. However, P&S Doc doesn't fix. Would help if I could get another Case # I think.

You obviously didn't read what I wrote about the situation in detail. You just proposed some standard approaches that I had taken a while ago and that didn't work, including HPSmart. So no, you didn't help.
