HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 won't copy.  Scans and prints fine, with the current HP driver for Windows 11 (just downloaded and re-installed - dated November 2021).  Worked fine under Windows 10.  When I load a document into the feeder (or put it on the platen) and select copy document, it responds "Copy does not support Envelope #10.  Load supported size of paper in the tray.  The tray has 8.5 x 11 loaded in it, and it prints fine onto that paper.  How do I make it copy?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you Betty.  I had downloaded the current driver (November 2021), which made everything work except copy.  I called HP Support, and after an hour of trying various things, he finally had me push on the back arrow 4? times (even when it wasn't showing) to do a hard reset.  That worked.
