If it wasn't broken, why did HP fix it?  I think HP screwed up shoving this down our throat. Until now, I've been happy with my HP products

With the old "HP Printer Assistant", I did not have to be "on-line" to scan and save a document.  I have a 100(+) mbps connection but it takes "HP Smart" 20 to 30 seconds to connect. The old scan control panel was much friendlier to use, but as of Feb 28 at 0530 hrs., it doesn't work anymore.

How can I dump "HP Smart" and go back to my old, reliable "HP Printer Assistant"?

@Shamrocm, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

Apologies for the inconvenience. I understand your concern. It s as per the design of the HP Smart app.

Yes, you may install the full-feature driver instead of using the HP Smart app.

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Use the HP Printer Assistant.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
