HP Solution Center no longer works

I am running Windows Vista.  In all the years that I have had my printer, I have been able to run HP Solution Center to scan and print.   Without warning, the HP Solution Center no longer comes up.  Whenever I attempt to start it, the screen flashes for a half-second and then a picture displays of what looks like an "f" next to an "i".  I am going to send a copy of it with this question.  Why is this happening and what can I do to be able to use the HP Solution Center?

This happen due to Adobe Flash end of life, the HP Solution Center is based on Flash:

https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html

You may install and scan using the HP Scan Extended app, it can be accessed by launching the HP Scan Extended applications from the Programs menu:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
