Scanjet G4010
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My Scanjet G4010 stopped scanning on my Mac Mini running 10.15.4. Every time I try to use it I get some version of "Failed to open a session on the device." Sometimes the error number is -9921 or -21345. The scanner is plugged directly into the computer using an HP branded USB cable. The scanner works fine on my wife's MacBook Air running Mojave so I know it's a software issue. I cleaned out the "Printers & Scanners" in Mac Preferences, installed the latest HP software. Easy Scan version 1.9.3, I have also tried using Apple Image Capture 8.0. nothing has helped.
