HP5540 will not print when touch screen "copy icon" is pressed.  If I recycle the power on/off I can get one copy from the touch screen.  After that it does not respond.  All other functions work.  It prints from my desktop, another HP laptop, and other apple devices.

Hi @stevsail,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue specifically with the touch screen functionality on your HP5540 printer. Since other functions like printing from various devices are working fine, it might not be a connectivity issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Firmware Update: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address bugs or glitches that affect specific functionalities.

Reset to Factory Settings: Resetting the printer to its factory settings can sometimes resolve software-related issues. Look for an option in the printer's settings menu to perform a factory reset.

Touch Screen Calibration: Some printers have a touch screen calibration option in their settings menu. If yours does, try calibrating the touch screen to see if it improves responsiveness.

Cleaning the Touch Screen: If the touch screen is dirty or has smudges, it might not register touches correctly. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the touch screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
