I am trying to email a scanned document using HP Smart and it is not sending, just runs and runs..

I have tried 4 times to email a scanned document using HP Smart on my HP Deskjet 2700 series.  It just runs and runs and doesn't go anywhere.. Help

If not done,

Try / Consider...

Prerequisites

Add the sender address to the Windows Mail application.

Note that Windows Mail will work with many email providers

The Windows Mail app does not like "2-Step Verification"

If you are using this type of email security,

Open and sign into your email provider

Open the Security setup > Add an Apps Password

Sign out of your email provider (in software / browser).

Open Windows Mail - If necessary, Add your email address to Windows Mail

Test sending a message.

HP Smart - Windows

Open HP Smart > Scan > Scan documents > Scan the content > Optionally Edit that content

When ready, Click to "Share" the scanned document

At the point where HP Smart opens Windows Mail, the control for the job is handed over to Windows Mail.

• Disconnect from Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection before downloading.
• Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

• HP Smart requires that you sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.

• Where possible, HP Smart benefits (likes) having the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software installed.  For example, full driver provides access to Shortcuts and Printing Preferences.

  • Older versions of the HP Smart app no longer support the required login feature.
  • Update the application to the latest version to access / use HP Smart
