We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

It has been working great but now I suddenly cannot scan and the message "general failure" comes up.  I go through on the computer using "HP Scan and Capture".  I have tried unplugging etc but nothing helps.

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see you are getting a 'general scanner failure' error message on your HP Photosmart 6520. You have tried a reset and using the Scan and Capture app with no success.

 

Are you able to make a Copy? What happens if you make a Copy, does this same error message pop up?

 

Please go ahead and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.

 

What does the PSDR find?
