Envy7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We had to get our WIFI router replaced by our provider.  I can print from my phone but not from my computer, an HP360.  I can print the test page just fine but when I try to print an email, etc, it will not print the text (black or oolor).  It does print the header ifo, icons, etc.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  I have also run the HP printer/scan doctor version 5.2.  thanks!

Hi @kwindy

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

Step 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -

Click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue still persists, try a network restore -

Step 3 Network Restore -
On the printer's control panel -
1) Touch the "Wireless icon".
2) Touch the "Settings" icon.
3) Select "Restore Network Settings".
4) Select "Yes".

Step 4 Reboot the devices -
1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer.
2) Wait for 60 seconds.
3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
5) Turn on the computer.

Step 5 Run Wireless Wizard -
On the printer's control panel, go to the Network menu or touch the wireless icon and then go to settings. Select Wireless Setup Wizard.

Let me know how that goes.

Hello.

When I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor,  printer issues were fixed but I received an error message when trying to fix the scanner issues. "Unsuccessful Network Installation.  The device was ubable to be istalled over the network".   I tried using the help feature and it must be the anti virus program causing the issue.  I HATE Windows 10, strong word but very true!  I cannot figure out how to temporarily turn off the Windows antivirus.  I don't have any other virus protection installed.

Perhaps it was premature but I did go to Step 2.  I went to settings and searched for uninstall a program.  (which is add or remove a program?)  There are quite a few HP files.  Would it be the 'HP ENVY 7640 series Basic Device Software?  Right clicking on it has no effect.  I can open or modify it.

I am sorry I am not understanding.
