HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125w
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have lost the ability to use the scanner in my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125w.   Last time I used it, it worked well.   This time I could not get the scanning function to appear in either the Printer & Scanner Preference or Image Capture. i had the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125w connected to my MacBook by USB cable    I deleted the printer from the Printer & Scanner Preference and tried reinstalling the printer.   I disconnected the cable and went to a network connection.   When I reinstalled the printer (USB), I got in the Preference pane an image of a different printer and a generic location.   I deleted the printer again and ran HP Easy Start.   I went into the Preference.  I deleted the USB driver and added  the Bounjour driver.  Now in the Preference I have the correct printer but no scanner.

The Mac is on OS 11.6.

How do I restore the scanner function?
