The light that normally comes on when you scan or copy isn’t coming on & just printing ink lines

HP ENVY 7640 All-In-One Printer

When I try to scan or make a copy manually it just prints out an entire page of ink lines. It appear the light that runs across the scanner isn’t coming on?
