HP Smart Tank 7305
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have just bought a HP Smart Tank 7305 printer and everything is working fine except the photocopy function.  I put the document on the glass but the copy buttons are  not lit up and simply don't work.  Can anyone help with what i am doing wrong?

@ACD68

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked fine?

Unplug the printer and then reconnect the printer to reset the power module.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.

  3. After the printer has been disconnected for at least 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the printer.

  4. Plug the power cord directly into the wall outlet.

  5. Depending on your printer model, use the appropriate steps to start a Power On/Off cycle:

    • Printers with a Power button: Press and release the Power button. Do not hold the button down.

       NOTE: If you press and hold the Power button too long, the printer might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button again.
    • Printers with a Power switch: Press the Power switch to the Off position, and then press it to the On position.

  6. If the printer does not turn on, wait 10 seconds, and then press the Power button.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
