For the life of me I cannot figure this out.  I have a Macbook Air running OS 11.4.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver (aka HP Smart) numerous times.  Able to add printer via airprint and can print but not scan.  No problems from my MBP (same OS).   Ran out of options and looking for some guidance!

still no dice with this. 

 

able to scan from my mbp but not my mba.  very frustrating. 

 

on the mba it shows

 

kind:  HP officejet 4620 series-Airprint

 

on mbp...no airprint. 

 

have tried reinstalling drivers etc.

I have the same issue with an HP8710. Reading other topics, I'm finding that HP apparently needs Adobe Flash to scan and it's gone. Now the printers we bought won't scan.

 

I've read fixes for Windows systems; what's the fix for Macs?

believe flash has been removed on both of my computers in question in this thread so not sure that would be true?  hmmm

update...i was able to get it to scan using the HP Smart app however the scan option does not show via the system pref/printer dialogue.

Yes, flash has been removed and I'm told that's why I cannot scan from the computer.
