I need some kind of software to install on old XP desktop to scan slides from a Scanjet 3970

Hi,

Download and install below software for your scanner:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software2/COL4309/sj-14413-1/col4309.exe

 

If you experience any issue, please clarify it as detailed as possible, there are many patches available for the scanner to resolve many known issues.
