Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear HP community

My scanner worked fine until recently. The printer is ok, but the scanner does not. The solution I have found on HP Doctor direct to install HP smart; however,  I DO NOT to use HP smart. I just want to use the regular Windows Fax & Scan (or whatever other app). HP Smart seems to disable every other app.

I would appreciate any input on the issue.
