Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Today my HP DeskJet 2600 showed an error message of "HP DeskJet 2600 not found"  when I tried to scan.  Printing working perfectly.  Virtual Assistant no help at all.  Scan Doctor shows "Device Error Detected" but, after hours going through virtual assistants etc., nothing has given an answer or reason for this.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

Consider / Try

 

Start here -- Recommended 

Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.

 

Printer Firmware

If not done,

Consider updating the Printer Firmware

An update was issued (at this writing) Oct 7, 2022

Printer Software

 

Full Feature Software / Printer Installation Package / Download and Save

HP DeskJet / Ink Advantage 2600 All-in-One Printer series Print and Scan Driver and Accessories 

 

  • If using VPN, shut it off to install software.  NOTE >> If you don’t know what this is, you are not using a VPN – ignore this part.
  • Uninstall any printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
  • Restart the computer and sign in.
  • Continuing issues or "Driver Unavailable" during installation, Start over:  Uninstall the printer software > Restart the computer and log in >>> Add the steps described in the "Check and Remove" section
  • If any changes are made, that is, you remove anything, Restart the computer and sign in.
  • Install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
