Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Random vertical lines are usually caused by debris on the scanner glass or in extreme cases, damage to the scanner glass when scanning from the ADF.  Vertical lines occurring when scanning from ADF and from the flat glass would indicate either debris inside the optics or a hardware failure.
