My Laserjet M227fdn all in one use to scan documents and save into Editable Text (OCR) on my Windows 8.1. It has disappeared from the dialogue box for saving document since I bought a new HP computer with Windows 10.  It will only save in PDF which I don't really care about as I use OpenOffice.org for my text documents needs.  What gives here?  Thank you kindly.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Here's what you need to do:

1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
2. Restart the PC
3. Close all programs
4. download only this complete
   package: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn Full Feature Software and Drivers 
   and: Readiris Pro 16 
5. Close all programs
6. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the
   File name: Full_Webpack-44.11.2775-LJM227-M231_UW_4_1_Full_Webpack.exe (184.2 MB)
7. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
8. Restart the System again
9. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

Thank you for trying to help.  However, the recommendation made it so I had to spend an hour just to get my HP Laserjet to scan in PDF and still no Rich Text format, which is what I want.  I don't need PDF format at all.  All I want to do is scan in Rich Text format.

You have also installed this software "Readiris Pro 16"?

But with which software do you scan? Unfortunately, this information is missing!
A screenshot would be very helpful.
