when I try to Fax a document, either from my Surface or directly from the Printer, I hear the dial tone, then the ringing and the other fax machine answering . But the printer keeps waiting. I seems as if the printer doesn't know that it can go ahead and send the fax

To assist you better, what model printer are you using?

Are you using a dedicated line or a shared line?

 

Refer to this document to know how to setup fax on the printer.

It used to fax but something has gone haywire.

All other functions work fine

I admit I did not do anything as far as the last post.

Concerning your question "are you getting an error message" … No It simply says "no answer"

Kindly check the connections before sending or receiving a fax. Refer to the document in my previous post.

Are you using a shared line or a dedicated fax line?

 

Also, let us run a fax test:

 

On the printer screen, go to Fax menu > Tools > Run fax test.

This will let us know what the issue is. Let me know the result on your next post.
