I had already updated the firmware before, when I printed from my son's phone.

I did go ahead and reset the sprocket again with the pin but my phone still does not connect with it via Bluetooth.

I also just tried restarting my phone to see if it would make a difference, but nothing has changed.

Hey there! I am currently going through the same situation. Was there ever a solution?

My phone had been connected to my sprocket until one day it stopped connecting. I've tried everything listed above.

Thanks,

Darby

No, unfortunately, I never was able to get it to work with my Iphone X. Now I can't even get the sprocket to connect to my son's older phone anymore. Pretty disappointing that there's not better tech support for this product. I would really like to be able to use it!

Interestingly, I have the same problem..... with two different devices. I don't know why I did not learn from my first mistake. The first one I gave as  gift. And the second one is for myself.  Connecting the first time was fine. But the second time I wanted to print, my iPhone could never connect. And none of the available solutions I have found in Google or HP support site help resolve my issue. Even an Android device cannot detect this Bluetooth device. I even "forgot" all of the Bluetooth devices in my Bluetooth list, uninstalled the Sprocket app - all waste of time.

HP should get this problem resolved. The printer is a great idea, but at this time I really cannot recommend this product to any of my friends, relatives, or colleagues. I am pretty technical, so I doubt it's user issue. Currently I have a device that is great as a paper weight - an expensive paper weight.

Edit: Just want to add that this is for the Sprocket version 2.

@shep13, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Install the HP sprocket app on your mobile device, and then pair your mobile device to the printer using a Bluetooth connection. The app is required to connect the printer and print photos from your mobile device.

  1. Go to the HP Sprocket (in English) homepage, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

  2. After the app installs, turn on the printer by holding the Power button until the Status Indicator light above the output slot is on.

  3. On your mobile device, open the Bluetooth settings menu, and then make sure Bluetooth is enabled.

NOTE: You can turn the setting off when you are not using the printer.

Location menu example on Android

  1. Open the HP sprocket app.

  2. If a Welcome screen displays, tap the setup option, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. Tap the Menu icon , tap sprocket, and then tap Manage Printers.

A list of available Sprockets displays.

    • If your printer displays, the printer is connected.

    • If your printer does not display, tap Add New Printer, and then tap your printer.

Send a print job with the HP sprocket app.

  1. From the home screen, swipe left or right to select a photo saved to your mobile device, Facebook, Instagram, or Google account.

  2. On the preview screen, tap Edit or the Edit icon  to adjust the photo appearance, add frames and stickers, or apply filters, and then tap the Checkmark when you are done.

  3. Tap the Print icon .

Let me know how this goes.
