instillation of the cartridge, into the printer. The film between the rollers appears to be catching and causing the printer to message “replace cartridge”

what am I doing wrong to save damaging any mor cartridges?

@Alabri1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

To know how to replace/insert the ink cartridges, kindly refer to step 4 in this document - Setting Up the Printer

  1. Open the cartridge door.

    Opening the cartridge door

  2. Press down on the blue tab, and then remove the cartridge from its slot.

  3. Reinstall the cartridge into the slot until it clicks into place, and then close the cartridge door.

    Inserting the cartridge

  4. On the HP sprocket app message, tap OK to clear it.

If there are any damages, the printer has to be replaced. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
