What is the best color setting on a sprocket? I have it on default right now. However, the photo is  coming out a little bit on the yellow side. Any suggestions or tips to correct?

Item was just purchased.

Hi @SuzanneG10,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

If your printed photos are coming out with an unwanted yellow tint, you can try correcting this issue by adjusting the settings in the HP Sprocket app. Here are some tips and steps to help you improve the color quality of your prints:

  1. Update Firmware: Ensure your HP Sprocket printer has the latest firmware. Updating firmware can sometimes fix color imbalances and improve print quality. You can do this using the sprocket app under the printer settings.

  2. Calibration: Upon loading a new pack of paper, the Sprocket might eject a Print Quality Card. Use this card for calibration, which can help improve color accuracy.

  3. Edit Photos:

    • Use the HP Sprocket App: Before printing, you can edit your photos for better color balance.
    • Adjust Filters: The app provides options to add filters or adjust colors, which can help in reducing the yellow tint. Try altering the saturation and tint in the photo editing options.
    • Brightness and Contrast: Sometimes tweaking these settings can also balance out color inconsistencies.
  4. App Settings: Use the sprocket app to adjust app settings for enhanced print quality. Ensure that the app permissions are correctly configured to pull accurate color data.

  5. Paper Quality: Ensure you are using HP Sprocket photo paper. Paper quality can influence the final print colors.

  6. Reveal Feature: If you have the Reveal feature turned on, try toggling it off. Sometimes embedded content can alter the appearance of prints.
