Hi @lmonroe2521

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I can see how discouraging it must feel to have your Sprocket 200 show as connected but then fail right at the moment of printing—especially after you’ve already gone through such a thorough set of troubleshooting steps.

Thank you for the effort you’ve put in; that really helps narrow down the possibilities. Let’s now focus on a few deeper checks that often resolve this type of connection drop:

Step 1: Confirm Bluetooth Permissions

  • On your Android device, go to Settings > Apps > HP App > Permissions.
  • Ensure Bluetooth, Location, and Storage permissions are enabled.
The Sprocket relies on these to maintain a stable link during print jobs.

Step 2: Clear Paired Devices on Printer

  • With the printer powered on, press and hold the Power button for 7 seconds until the printer turns off.
  • This clears all paired devices from memory.
  • Re-pair the printer with your phone through the HP App.

Step 3: Reset Bluetooth Stack on Phone

  • Turn Bluetooth off on your phone.
  • Restart the phone.
  • Turn Bluetooth back on and pair only the Sprocket (avoid multiple active Bluetooth connections during testing).

Step 4: Check Firmware Update

  • Open the HP App on your Android device.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Firmware Update.
  • If an update is available, install it. Firmware updates often improve Bluetooth stability.

Step 5: Test with a Different Image Format

  • Try printing a simple JPEG photo instead of a PNG or edited image.
  • This helps confirm whether the issue is with the print job format or the connection itself.

Step 6: Ensure Sprocket Queue is Clear

  • In the HP App, go to Print Queue and confirm there are no stuck jobs.
  • If any appear, clear them before sending a new print.

Step 7: Reinstall HP App with Data Wipe

  • Uninstall the HP App.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Reinstall the HP App from Google Play.
  • During setup, allow all requested permissions.

These steps should help stabilize the connection so the printer stays linked when the print job is sent.

Solution-

Connect to a separate device, printer worked fine, reconnect to original device, printer  continues to function nominally.
