HP Sprocket 200 - Printing sideways (stretched image).

After researching similar issues on this forum already, and trying the reported solutions I wanted to come on and see if others are still experiencing this issue?

My photos are printing what should be a portrait image incorrectly, instead it is rotated and stretched into a landscape format.

It appears correct in the app, even when I rotate to be landscape in the app, it somehow reverts and prints as before.

Things I have tried:

  • Updating the app
  • Uninstalling and re-installing the app
  • Checking for firmware update (there was no "update firmware" button visible in the settings section where is states firmware version so I assume it was already up to date).
  • Re-setting the printer using the button underneath the paper cover
  • Disconnected the printed/unpairing it and re-connecting and pairing it.
  • Restarting the phone and printer.
  • Rotating/editing the photo with the sprocket app (has no effect and in fact the app reverts the rotation changes when print is selected. - to be clear, the image is clearly shown to be in portrait orientation and within the bounds of the preview box in the app.

I have wasted SO MUCH PAPER trying to resolve this issue and I'm getting extremely frustrated. I only use the sprocket every few months and every time there are multiple issues to resolve.

Has anyone managed to resolve this issue and can they suggest anything else to try?

Thanks in advance.

Other info: my phone is android in case that makes a difference.

I have the same issue. 3 days ago it printed fine - then it had an update on 30/12/25 to version 3.0.241.1 and now they print with the incorrect orientation. Is this update causing the issue? There is also no option to roll back the update.

Literally exactly the same. Wasted a ton of paper and tried everything I have been able to find. No clue. Grrr

Hi,

  • I also have the same issue. Worked fine a couple of weeks ago. Went to use a couple of days ago and the images are stretched and rotated. The photo appear in the print view how I would expect them to print. I've tried everything listed and wasted so much paper. Borrowed my daughter's Sprocket and had the same issue. Hoping a solution can be found asap.

That's very frustrating.

It seemed to be an issue for me before and after I updated the app so I'm not certain what's going on.

Exact same problem.

I tried everything you have as well to no effect. Wasted a lot of paper as well. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

I've had the exact same thing happen, been using it fine and then ice tried to use it today and now each photo is coming out the wrong way and I've wasted loads of paper!

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem since today.
My landscape pictures are stretched and printed in portrait, and my portrait pictures are stretched and printed in landscape.
Everything worked fine 3 days ago.
I have wasted a full pack of paper trying to fix the issue (restarting the app, the printer, reinstalling the app, rotating my pictures etc to no avail).
My phone is a Pixel 8 Pro.
Thanks in advance for you help in resolving this very frustrating issue.

Same issue here too. Trying to print some portrait oriented photos, but they're printing landscape and look stretched and squashed. Tried almost everything suggested, but having read the comments I don't want to waste any more expensive paper if none of these "fixes" are going to fix the issue!
