I recently purchased a Sprocket 200 and received it in the mail today. I had a little bit of difficulty getting it connected to my phone and the HP Sprocket app but eventually I was able to make it work and print out a few things. Then, when I tried to print again, the Sprocket app started to glitch. Every time I try to open the app, it immediately crashes out and exits out of the app. I have tried everything, from disconnecting and reconnecting my printer from my bluetooth, deleting the app and reinstalling it several times, restarting my phone, turning the printer on and off and resetting it, I even updated my phone to the new ios, nothing I do has been able to get this app to even open. What do I do?

No answer here but just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. The app was working fine a few days ago, attempted to print something today and the app immediately crashes without even opening. Nice to have a $100 paper weight 😩

Hi @NW2026,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Sprocket 200 app is crashing immediately on your phone, even after reinstalling the app, restarting the phone, and resetting the printer. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this.

Force-close and restart your phone
Completely close all apps running in the background.
Restart your phone to clear temporary caches that might interfere with the app.

Check for app permissions
Go to your phone’s Settings > HP Sprocket app and ensure it has Bluetooth, Location, and Storage permissions enabled.
Missing permissions can prevent the app from launching properly.

Clear the app cache and data (if available)
For iOS, deleting and reinstalling usually handles this, but make sure no residual data remains.
For Android, go to Settings > Apps > HP Sprocket > Storage > Clear Cache & Clear Data.

Verify Bluetooth connection
Turn off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
Ensure no other device is trying to connect to the Sprocket simultaneously.

Check for app updates or known issues
Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and confirm the HP Sprocket app is the latest version.
Check HP support forums for reports of app crashes on your iOS version.

Try a different device
If possible, install the app on another phone or tablet and attempt to connect the Sprocket.
This helps determine whether the issue is app-specific or device-specific.

Reset the Sprocket printer fully
With the Sprocket on, hold the power button for 10 seconds until the light flashes, then release.
Power it back on and try pairing with the app again.

I hope this helps.
