Sprocket 200
iOS

Sprocket Bluetooth won’t pop up on any of my devices!! I had no problem connecting when I unboxed the product. But now I have been trying for 2 days and nothing seems to work. I have tried EVERYTHING that is suggested. RESTARTING my phone, RESTARTING the sprocket, forgetting the device on my IOS Bluetooth setting. I’ve done all those steps SEVERAL of times. So I don’t want a reply telling me to turn my phone off and back on and restarting the sprocket, I HAVE ALREADY DONE ALL OF THAT AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK! I’ve had the sprocket for maybe 2 weeks and have only been able to print out twice from it. For the price it cost, struggling this much should not be happening!

@AdiD, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to connect the Sprocket to your iOS device. Let us try these steps:

Which version of iOS are you using?

Reset the sprocket

You can initiate a factory reset by using the steps below.

A factory reset can only be completed when the USB charging cable is NOT connected to the printer.

1. Hold the power button for about 7 seconds in total. After 3 seconds, the Status LED light will turn off to indicate the printer is shutting down; continue to hold the Power button until the LED lights start to flash.

2. Release the power button. The LEDs will continue blinking for about 6 seconds.

3. While the LEDs are blinking, press and release the power button. The device will remain off until you power on again.

4. Power on; the printer will be reset to factoring settings. After a factory reset, all settings are reset to factory defaults (Custom Name, LED color, Sleep Time, Auto-Off, etc.)

Connect the iOS device to the sprocket

1. Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds to turn on the printer. The LED will flash white as the printer powers on and remain solid white once fully powered on.

2. Open iPhone® Settings and select Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth on and then select the printer from the listed devices.

3. Next, launch the sprocket app. See “Installing Mobile App” for more information.

• A reminder message will appear if you try to print a photo and are not paired with your HP printer.

• If your mobile device and printer will not pair, try resetting the printer. For instructions, see FAQ “How do I reset my printer?”

• Only one iOS device can pair with the printer at a time. To share the printer, turn off Bluetooth and allow someone else to pair.

Previously paired Bluetooth accessories such as Apple AirPods might interfere with the initial discovery of the Sprocket. Unpair the accessory from the Bluetooth menu of your device before initial pairing with your Sprocket. The accessory can then be paired again after the Sprocket is connected.

  1. On your mobile device, open the HP sprocket app.

  2. Tap the Menu icon , tap sprocket, and then tap Manage Printers.

A list of available Sprockets displays.

    • If your Sprocket displays: The Sprocket is connected.

    • If your Sprocket does not display: Tap Add New Printer, and then tap the name of your Sprocket.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi,

I followed all the steps from above, but it’s still not working. My phone connects with the sprocket printer but the application of HP Sprocket doens’t seems to find the printer. I always get the same pop-up that They can’t find my printer and because I probabely have one of the more oldest version... Is it possible that there is something wrong with the application? In attachements you can find the pop-up (it is unfortunately in Dutch).
I sencirely hope that you can help me.

Kind regards,

Emilie

Which version of iOS are you using?

Check for updates.

Go to Settings > General > Update the software.

You may try reinstalling the HP Sprocket app and try again.

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

This still did not work for me. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app as well and nothing. My iOS device is up to date and it is able to recognize other Bluetooth devices, it’s my Sprocket 200 that doesn’t show up. I tried on my iPad and iPhone and nothing. I forgot all the Bluetooth devices my iOS was previously connected to as well. At this point I feel like something is just wrong with the Sprocket. I just don’t understand how I had no problem connecting and printing for the first time, when I unboxed it. Now it has been over a week since I have been trying to get it to reconnect.

I'm having the same issue.  I've tried everything, multiple times.  Nothing is working... my sprocket can no longer connect to the app.  It connects to my iphone just fine, but it won't recognize the sprocket in the app.  There was one time it did recognize it and when it started to configure, it stopped and said there was an error.  Very frustrated.  Definitely won't be buying another sprocket.  I should've bought another printer.
