I would like to print four images landscape mode in a 2X2 collage but whenever I create a collage it forces it into portrait mode and won’t let me rotate the individual images. I’d also like to print both landscape and portrait images in the same sticker because I cut them out.
why is this very basic and easy functionality not available? This is making this printer unusable for me.

Hi @FrustratedinSF1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with such limitations when you're trying to create a collage with your HP printer. Here are a few points and potential solutions that might help.
Reasons for Limitations
- Software Restrictions: Some HP printer software or apps have limitations in terms of how images can be arranged or rotated. The design might prioritize portrait orientation as a standard for collages.
- Driver Issues: The printer drivers or the software used for printing may not fully support advanced printing options, such as rotating images or mixed orientations.
Potential Solutions
HP Smart App: If you’re using the HP Smart app, ensure it’s up to date. Sometimes, updates may provide additional features or resolve bugs.
- Check for an option in the app to create a custom collage where you can select your layout and orientation.
Print Settings: Before printing, double-check the print settings:
- Go to the print dialog and look for layout options or advanced settings that allow for custom orientations.
- Sometimes, selecting "Fit to Page" or "Scale" options can affect how images are placed.
Printer Settings: Access the printer settings directly from the control panel or web interface (if available). Look for settings related to layout or printing preferences that might help adjust how collages are printed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I understand that this is a software limitation. Please update the software to include this functionality because it is such a basic one that it’s surprising that it doesn’t exist! There’s literally no other reason why it wouldn’t exist (it exists for all your competitors) and it’s so frustrating that this one thing is missing

Hi @FrustratedinSF1,
Thank you for your response,
I understand how such a basic feature can be crucial, and, surprisingly, this functionality isn't available in the software you're using.
While you've already gone through some potential troubleshooting steps, including checking print settings and using the HP Smart app.
Here is some additional suggestions.
Third-Party Software: If you're looking for an immediate workaround, you could try using third-party photo editing or collage-making software that allows you to rotate images before sending them to print through your HP printer. Programs like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or even simple online tools can help you create the collage in the format and orientation you desire, which can then be printed without issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
