Hi tried using my Sprocket SNPRH-1603 with my IPad and IPhone with my “old” Sprocket. iPad is 9th generation, IOS V26.3. iPhone is iPhone XR IOS V18.7.4. I have downloaded a Sprocket app from the App Store but cannot get either to connect to the Sprocket. Maybe I have the wrong app or I’m not pairing the items correctly. Maybe the Sprocket is too old and will not work with updated hardware. Any help appreciated.

Hi @John1305

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to get your Sprocket SNPRH‑1603 paired and working with your iPad and iPhone:

Confirm the correct app

  • The app you need is the Sprocket app from the App Store. Make sure it is installed and updated to the latest version.

Prepare the Sprocket

  • Charge the printer fully.
  • Power it on and check that the LED indicator is steady or blinking as expected.
  • If the printer was previously paired with another device, reset the Bluetooth connection by holding the power button for about 7 seconds until the LED flashes, then release.

Enable Bluetooth on your iOS device

  • On your iPad or iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Forget any old Sprocket entries if they appear under “My Devices.”

Pair the printer

  • With the Sprocket powered on, wait for it to appear under Other Devices in the Bluetooth list.
  • Tap the device name (usually “Sprocket” followed by a number) to pair.
  • Once paired, the status should change to Connected.

Connect through the app

  • Open the Sprocket app.
  • The app should automatically detect the paired printer.
  • If not, go to the app’s settings or printer menu and manually select the device.

Test printing

  • Load the photo paper correctly.
  • Try printing a test photo from the app.
  • If the print fails, restart both the printer and your iOS device, then retry.

Additional checks

  • Ensure your iOS versions (iPadOS 16.3 and iOS 18.7.4) are fully updated.
  • Keep the Sprocket within a few feet of the device during pairing.
  • Avoid pairing with multiple devices at once—disconnect from one before connecting to another.

If the printer still does not connect, perform a full reset on the Sprocket and repeat the pairing process. This usually resolves stubborn connection issues.
