I have tried to use the sprocket on multiple Android devices, and the sprocket application cannot connect to the printer via BT.  I have followed the instructions more than once, and continue to get the same error.  Is there a way to download the firmware and flash it via a computer?

To answer your question regarding the firmware update from the computer, it is not an option.
