Hi @Klocke30,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Sprocket is not connecting to Bluetooth, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue and check if it requires an update.

Check Bluetooth Connection

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or tablet.
  • Go to your device's Bluetooth settings and remove/forget the Sprocket if it appears in the list.
  • Turn the HP Sprocket off and back on again. To do this, hold the power button until the device turns off, then press it again to turn it back on.
  • Reconnect the Sprocket to your device via Bluetooth.

Reset the HP Sprocket

  • Turn off the Sprocket.
  • Use a pin to press and hold the reset button located near the charging port for about 5 seconds. The Sprocket will turn off and restart.

Ensure the Sprocket Has Power

  • Make sure the HP Sprocket is fully charged. Use the included USB cable to charge it, and ensure the charging light turns on.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Download the HP Sprocket app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Open the app and connect to your Sprocket.
  • If a firmware update is available, the app will prompt you to update. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

Compatibility Check

  • Ensure your smartphone or tablet is compatible with the HP Sprocket. Check your device's OS version—most Sprockets require Android 5.0+ or iOS 10+.

Reset Network Settings on Your Phone (Optional)

  • If the issue persists, reset the network settings on your phone, which can resolve Bluetooth conflicts. After resetting, try connecting to the Sprocket again.

Reinstall the HP Sprocket App

  • Uninstall and reinstall the app on your phone. This ensures you have the latest version, which can help with connection and updates.

Note:

  • Ensure that no other device is currently paired with the Sprocket.
  • Keep the Sprocket and your phone/tablet within close range, ideally less than 2 meters apart.
  • Try restarting your smartphone or tablet.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
