i have an hp pavilion 15 (15-bc300ng) but I lost the charger and I have an old charger from an hp probook that is 90w I was thinking if I bought an adaptor will it work?

It has NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M (4 GB DDR3 dedicated) and uses 120 W AC power adapter. 90W PSU/Charger won't work. You can use 150W.

I believe the 15-bc300ng requires the so call "smart pin" power supply.as described here.
Even if the adapter works the 90 watt restriction means the notebook could only be charged while turned off.

Looks like 710415-001 is the part you need but it has been replaced by a 150 watt supply
I would go with the 150 watt
