I purchased this unit few years ago at minimal usage recently I went to use it and I noticed that my touchpad would constantly be dropped by USB like every 3 seconds on off on off I went ahead and did a master reset windows and everything after doing so the math worked for maybe a minute or two I did some research it said to unplug it and plug it back in which I've done I clean the pins still the same I cannot get it to work at this point at all just keeps getting that annoying USB dropped sound effect I was wondering if there's any patches help or do I actually have a hardware problem?
Check both the pin connections on the touchmat and in the Sprout column for dust. The windows chime indicates a hardware connection, if that is unstable then the software is most definitely not involved.
