There is a red exclamation icon on my HP Support Assistant Icon.  I have checked for any messages and or updates for all my listed devices and their are none.  How do I remove this red exclamation that is attached to my HP Support Assistant?

Hi @Richieski,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The red exclamation icon on the HP Support Assistant usually indicates that there's a notification or issue that needs your attention, even if you don't see any obvious messages or updates. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and remove the icon.

Restart the HP Support Assistant:

  • Close the HP Support Assistant application completely and then reopen it. This can refresh the notifications.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Even if you've checked already, go through the steps again to ensure there are no pending updates:
    • Open HP Support Assistant.
    • Go to the Updates section and click on Check for updates.

Review Notifications:

  • Look at the Notifications tab in the HP Support Assistant. Sometimes, important notifications may be hidden there.

Run HP Support Assistant Troubleshooter:

  • In HP Support Assistant, find and run the Troubleshoot feature to check for issues automatically.

Reinstall HP Support Assistant:

  • If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling HP Support Assistant:
    • Go to Settings > Apps on your PC.
    • Find HP Support Assistant, click on it, and select Uninstall.
    • After it’s uninstalled, download the latest version from the HP website.

Check HP's Website for Known Issues:

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for any known issues with the HP Support Assistant that might be causing this icon to appear.

After completing these steps, the red exclamation icon should ideally be resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
