Hi,

I have spent hours trying to crack this.

I am on a Mac Mtn. Lion.

I have HPConnect and am able to connect to the 50G.

I also have a 2G SD card that works well too. In fact using the SD card I as able to load a program from HPCalc onto the SD card, insert into 50G and see the file!

At one point I transferred the file to "home" and was able to see it but it would not allow me to access it.

So my connectivity issues are solved. I just need to be hand held and walked through the process of installing the apps.

I tried several of the suggestions on other threads here but nothing really worked. I need the calculator and did not want to corrupt the file structure so have done a complete reset to factory defaults at this point.

I am in RPN mode.

Thanks,

Warren

Hi!, Warren:

For install Libraries in your HP50G, you must ...

Copy the Library from SD or PC, in HOME (VAR) directory.

Example : Library 1220 - XCELL.

Library_0.JPG

Now, you must stay resident in any port. In the example, in port 2 (Flash). This is the better port.

Press, ENTER Key.

Now, you must have Warmstart, with ON and F3 keys.

Next step, you must see, the Library installed in the port (2), for execute, with ... Rigth Shift.JPG Library_0.JPG

Use if necessary ... NEXT.JPG

You must see, in the example, the Libray in the port 2, installed resident, call XCELL ...

XCELL.JPG

You can erase, with FILER, in this case, the Library L1220, in the HOME (VAR) directory.

Note: See, the Quick Start Guide, in Getting Started 27, from ... http://www.hpgraphingcalc.org/uploads/9/4/3/8/9438994/hp_50g_quick_start_guide_english__en_f2229_902...

Hi,

So when you view the program on your 50g, you actually see a text file starting with something like "%%HP:"  etc.

This file is in text format an not in 50g binary format that the calculator can use. This usually gets converted when transferring via USB.

For a Mac compatible connection program, see HPConnect at http://hpconnect.sourceforge.net/

When transfering using an SD card, it needs to be converted first.

I use a program called HPUserEdit, you can find it on HPCalc. (I use v. 5 but there is a newer version available).

Unfortunately it is a Windows program. However, I will proceed to describe the conversion method (maybe you have access to a windows machine?).

After installing, you may first want to change the language: click menu item "Opciones" then "Idiomas" and select English.

It comes with an emulator. It is best to start this emulator by clicking on the calculator symbol (helptext Emu48 appears when hovering on this symbol).

Now open the required file in HPUserEdit, then go to "File" and "Export", give it a name and save as HP binary file. This file can now be copied to the SD card and should work as a program on the 50G.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for the help.

Here's what I haveScreen Shot 2013-04-18 at 8.18.01 AM.png

I have connect the 50G via HPConnect and see this window. The CASDIR is the only one opens to another. The rest I am am just prompted to save on my Mac.

The file I am trying to load is named iL1612.hp, a program I downloaded from HPCalc. When I select binary on HPConnect I am able to "put" this file on the 50G. I "put" it on home.

I id the warm restart and searched files and folders and library and found nothing.

There does not seem to be a clear option of where to "put" the file.

Is iL1612.hp a proper file that should work?

Where would I access or move it?

Can I move it inside the 50G or must I use HPConnect?

Thanks,

Warren

Hi!, UAGEO:

Please, see the instruction of software, from ... http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=7347

You must select transfer "binary". The Library L1612.hp, is the real extension and run OK, with HP50G.

Put, only store in HOME (VAR) directory, but not stay resident in memory. See, the images ...

L1612_0.JPG  Use ON+F3 ... L1612_1.JPG

Now, use Orange right shfit key and 2 (LIB) key ... Find ... CONTI ... use NXT (L) key if necessary.

Hi again,

I tried it like this with the Stat49 app that I think is a library, a whole bunch of apps in one.

What I did was after I had the configuration similar to the HPconnect screenshot where I could see Stat49  I unplugged the 50G. I did the On-F3 reset and looked under files. I found the folder for Stat49, highlighted and moved to "2-flash". Restart all over and now when I hit the Lib it is listed right there.

Is this a safe place to put it? Have I done it properly?

Thanks for the walk through!
