Good Day.   Thank you for stopping by the HP forums. I reviewed the post regarding assistance for your Microsoft Live account or Outlook password. I will be glad to assist you here.

 

Superb description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

I would request you to contact Microsoft in this regard to have them reset the password for you or further assistance. HP will not have this information with us.

 

This link: https://account.microsoft.com/account/faq that you have pasted in your post shows you steps on how to retrieve your password. Please look it up patiently and read through it. It will give you the steps to retrieve the password. If this does not help, please contact Mircosoft in this regard as HP will not have your personal information with us.
